Mental Health Literacy

Mental health literacy is the knowledge and understanding that helps us become responsible, effective, and successful in living full and healthy lives. Nearly one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness and approximately 1 in 5 youth worldwide will experience a mental illness before they turn 25. There are day-to-day activities we can do to help support our own mental health, but there may be times where we need to seek help from a professional.
