Muhlenberg Community Library Summer Quest 2024 is going on now! June 8 – August 10, 2024
Summer Quest registration will continue throughout the summer. All community members are welcome to participate all summer long! #BasicLiteracy
How it works:
Muhlenberg Community Library’s Summer Quest 2024, Adventure Begins at Your Library, runs June 8 through August 10, 2024.
- Stop in the library to register for Summer Quest and to receive your Tracking Sheet. All ages are welcome to register and complete Summer Quest challenges. Register anytime during the summer.
- Complete the Weekly Challenges and have your Tracking Sheet certified by library staff upon completion of at least five of the week's challenges. There are nine weeks of Summer Quest and each week has a total of ten challenges. Participants are welcome to complete as many weekly challenges as they desire and in any order. For example, if you register for Summer Quest during Week 3, you can complete the Weekly Challenge for that week, as well as, Week 1 and Week 2. Completing five items on a Weekly Challenge sheet earns one prize raffle ticket. Finishing all ten items on a Weekly Challenge sheet earns three prize raffle tickets.
- Tracking Sheets must be returned to the library by Saturday, August 10th at 12 PM. The final event of Summer Quest, Mess-tival, will take place August 10th, 11 AM- 1 PM. Summer prize winners will be drawn at the conclusion of this event. Need not be present to win, but tracking sheets need to be returned to be eligible for prize drawings.
Weekly Challenge Completion Tips
The challenges for each week will coincide with library programming. For example, a Weekly Challenge sheet might include "Make a watercolor painting." The library will have a watercolor painting program sometime that week. Participants of the program can then mark that item as completed. If you are unable to attend the scheduled programs, you can still complete the challenge in the library. Just ask the library staff for access to our paints and other supplies to help you complete as many items on the Weekly Challenges as you would like!
New Weekly Challenges will be available every Monday. Stop by the library to pick up Weekly Challenges or download and print the Weekly Challenges from the library's Summer Quest website.
Adult Summer Quest is open to everyone 18 and older.
- Complete an Adult Summer Quest Registration Form and turn it in to the circulation desk to receive a punch card.
- Present your punch card when you check out a book to receive a stamp.
- Once you reach five books checked out and your punch card is full, you will receive a prize raffle ticket. You are welcome to continue filling punch cards for additional raffle entries until the end of Summer Quest.
- Completed punch cards must be turned in to the library by Saturday, August 10th at 12 PM. The final Summer Quest event, Mess-tival, will take place August 10th, 11 AM- 1 PM. Prize winners will be drawn at the conclusion of this event. Need not be present to win, but all punch cards need to be turned in and raffle tickets completed in order to be eligible.
The library will be putting together a photo collage display inside the library in August. If you would like to be a part of our display, submit photos from your summer adventures to the Youth Services Coordinator by email at YouthServices@MuhlenbergCommunityLibrary.org or turn in print copies at the library.
We have volunteer opportunities for all ages, 12 and over. This experience is especially great for teens to bolster resumes and college applications! Our direct contact for this is our Youth Services Director, Sarah at muhlsarahk@gmail.com.
Summer Teen Reading Lounge meets on Mondays at 6 PM.
